SIGNED BY PILOT, MAJOR ALLISTER MILLER, "Allister M Miller" who flew the first leg of the flight from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth. VF, a scarce signed cover thus. Ex Uys. Major Allister Miller was the pioneer of airmail in South Africa and owner of Union Airways. Based on the success of the 1925 service, Union Airways inaugurated a weekly airmail service between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth and from there, via two separate routes, to Johannesburg and Durban. The first mail - as per this subject cover - was flown from Cape Town on August 26 on a DeHavilland Gypsy Moth.
