1927 ISLANDER COVER, CACHET III, TO LONDON: A lovely colourful taxed envelope bearing clear strike of cachet III (SG C3) with "London/ F.S./ Paquebot/ 14 Mr 27" cds alongside. "1½d F.B." handstamp at lower left, ½d & 1d GB postage dues applied at top left and tied by London cds 14 MR 27. Some corner wear to envelope, generally VF, a superior representation for this scarce cachet.
Carried on the sailing of RMS Asturias which left Tristan da Cunha on 15th February 1927. Crabb on page 180 illustrates a cover similar in all respects except bearing Cachet II, interestingly proving concommitent use of the implements.
