1912 POSTAGE STAMPS USED FOR REVENUE PURPOSES: An agreement for which no other Stamp duty was specifically provided, and if it involved a value in excess of £10, was liable for stamp duty of 1/-. The stamp duty on this Cession Agreement was paid using a postage stamp 1/-. Initially (April 1902) a 1s dual purpose postage and revenue stamp was issued. By late 1902, new separate 1s revenue and 1s postage stamps had been issued. However, the postage stamp was also used for revenue purposes from time to time as seen here.
