  • Front shows writer's signature, rate markings, Third Dated Letter Stamp - 23 FE (DLS4, VF) and tax marking boxed T.P RATE 2. All in red on reverse the crowned oval LONDON MY6, arrival cds 6 MY and the boxed DARTMOUTH INDIA LETTER mark.
  • The letter includes "I'm sorry to say that our beautiful and flourishing settlement of Albany has been totally destroyed - on the evening of Christmas Day the ... Savages... Broke into the Colony... Burnt most of the buildings and murdered many of the unoffending Inhabitants...
