TRANSVAAL: 1901 Printed envelope franked VRI 1d clearly tied Pretoria Transvaal cds 23 JAN. Pink censor seal at top and, in blue, boxed PASSED BY CENSOR mark. On reverse (applied on arrival) the fancy STANDERTON TRANSVAAL handstamp dated 24 JAN 1901. VF, interesting and unusual representation of this mark as an incoming censor to the town. The handstamp was only in use for three months. Scarce thus.
