Transvaal 1902 Swiss Medical Missionary Mail

TRANSVAAL: 1902 MISSIONARY CORRESPONDENCE from the SWISS MEDICAL MISSION at Elims Hospital writing from Pietersburg to Switzerland. A letter card (GB QV 1d) uprated Transvaal 1½d adhesives clearly tied by full strikes of the despatch cds AP 24 with alongside the double triangle Pretoria censor mark. Backstamped APO Pretoria and arrival cds 19. V. F-VF. Apparently a social correspondence but very much referring to the BOER WAR and written in French. "We are in the middle of important circumstances. The B (Boers) have come down the mountain, a 11 hours march/walk away... Could well be that they escape our city/fort however... Which could play a significant part in the peace negotiations... I have gone up the mountain," etc.
