NATAL: 1900 RARE USAGE OF OFS 1d BRIEFKAART cancelled by VF strike of the rare ELANDSLAAGTE oval rubber handstamp (late state with "ZAR" portion cut away) dated 8 FEB 1900, card addressed to Johannesburg with arrival backstamp of 10 FEB. OFS stamps were valid under the Tvl post system although OFS participation in the invasion of Natal was very limited. Rare piece, superb.
