OFS: 1900 Envelope "On Active Service E.C. Godfrey, BRABANTS HORSE" addressed to England. Front shows superb ARMY P.O. 43 (Bloemfontein) postmark MY 23 and in red the London PAID cds. Backstamped on arrival. Very scarce mail involving one of the small regiments of the war. F-VF. BRABANT'S HORSE was raised in January 1900 under the command of Brigadier-General Brabant. The regiment served in the Transvaal, OFS & Northern Cape. They were heavily involved in the Siege of Wepener 9th to 25th April 1900 and were considered one of the finest of the irregular troops.
