1930-45 1d Ship (SG 43var/CC 43a var Group 1a Issue 2).
VF/UM/M lower left corner block of 24 with
SPECTACULAR MISSING FRAMES & VIGNETTES due to DOUBLE PAPER INTRUSIONS during printing.
The first intrusion occurred during printing of the frames and consisted of an irregular strip of paper affecting the frames on stamp 1 of rows 18-20.
The second intrusion occurred during the printing of the vignettes and consisted of a long narrow strip of paper affecting the vignettes in postions r18/4, r19/3, r201&2.
The block is proven to this issue by cylinder variety "white patch on edge of oval above mountain" on stamp r19/4.
Rare thus, a wonderful exhibition showpiece!
