Irish postal authorities were faced with various challenges in the production of their new stamps c1922. Paper (watermarked SE as per Ireland Type 10) was supplied by Joynson & Son, Kent, with the sheets being gummed by De La Rue & Co, London. Following preparation of the Irish dies and watermarked paper, the contemporary Fiji plates were used for trial printing. A single sheet (mostly defaced by ruled lines) of these Fiji 2d with Irish watermark was discovered and subsequently sold out of the De La Rue archives. See additional image below.
