MADAGASCAR UPU ARCHIVE RECEIVING AUTHORITY SPECIMENS: 1927 London Pictorials 2d - 10/- (SG 34-39), three pairs (blocks of six, strip for 4d) of each value, affixed in neat arrangement to header portions of two ledger pages and handstamped with circular "POSTES ET TELEGRAPHES / COLLECTION / DE BERNE / MADAGASCAR" in red. A unique set sent from the UPU in Berne to the Madagascar Post Office where they were mounted on the ledger pages and tied by the Madagascar handstamp. A superior group for this archival material, fresh bright colours. With interesting marginal audit and header notations reflecting dating of receipt from the UPU of the stamps present together with delivery number. A magnificent and unique exhibition piece for connoisseur.
