MAURITANIA UPU ARCHIVE RECEIVING AUTHORITY SPECIMENS: 1941 KGVI Definitives: Complete group of all nine of the values issued in 1941. All in strips of three, each stamp perforated SPECIMEN in the usual manner for the UPU, affixed to ledger page and handstamped with 3-line "SPECIMEN / COLLECTION / MAURITANIE" in red-purple. Sent from the UPU in Berne to the Mauritania Post Office where they were affixed to the ledger page and tied by the Mauritania handstamp. Odd minor imperfections as usual for these, although markedly superior condition to the norm. A unique and philatelically important group, a colourful array!
