1933 PORTUGUESE RECEIVING AUTHORITY ARCHIVE SPECIMENS: Groote Schuur 3d blue, English & Afrikaans (SG 45c). The two stamps each bearing handstamped "SPECIMEN" in blue and affixed on piece from the Archive folio sheets, small abrasion on one. A very rare surviving pair thus, quite likely unique.These emanate from a Portuguese Colonial receiving authority in India (probably Portuguese Goa). The handstamped defacement was applied in Lisbon prior to distribution of the specimens (received through the UPU) to the overseas Portuguese colonies.
