  • Recovered BUT TAXED AS UNDERPAID envelope from Cape Town (19 IV 68) to Germany
  • salvaged from the crash of the SAA Boeing 707 "Pretoria" near Windhoek's J G Strijdom Airport on April 20th 1968.
  • Perimeter charring as usual for this mail which was badly burned.
  • The letter was overweight, the Cape Town postal authorities raising a charge for additional postage, the requesting notice now accompanying the subject crash cover.
  • With "ambulance" Official envelope returning the letter to sender and official Post Office notelet concerning the crash.
  • VF example of this scarce recovered mail,
