Written by Cobham to his wife in Hampstead, the personally annotated envelope reads: "London to Cape Town Survey Flight carried by Alan J Cobham..." At left a PERFORATED VERMILION SPECIAL FLIGHT VIGNETTE LABEL. Cobham departed Croydon aerodrome on 16th November 1925 and arrived Cape Town 17th February 1926.
