From here the saga begins: the letter arrives 17 DEC, is taxed "T 2d", redirected to Whangarei 22 DE, is back in Auckland 1 FEB 1907 (unclaimed octagon in violet), is stamped UNCLAIMED (red-unframed straight line mark), stamped & initialled twice very scarce boxed NOT KNOWN BY LETTER-CARRIERS in violet, returned to Whangarei 14 Feb & on the same day opened & sealed by the post office, seal dated 14-2-07. Backstamped in red, DEAD LETTER OFFICE NZ 7 MR & in black, the final cds R.L.O. Bloemfontein O.R.C. 19 APR. After all that F-VF, interesting well-travelled letter!
