1974 Twyfelfontein Rock Engravings 5c Elephant BLACK OMITTED (SG 265a/CC 274a). Superb UM left marginal horizontal PAIR of this rarity. Part arrow positional, previously mounted by margin only. Only 12 affected (the value & "SWA" do not appear) stamps are purported to exist with a high likelihood that this is one of only two surviving multiples. Exhibition showpiece for connoisseur! The 12 affected stamps were sold over the counter of the Oranjemund Post Office on 27th August 1974. Examples present on the market infrequently; together with the first issue KGV "no stops" this error is amongst the top 5 most highly catalogued SWA stamps.
