  • each handstamped "SPECIMEN" in violet with
  • small italic type SA1.
  • F-VF/M or large part OG.
  • An exceedingly rare group thus.
  • Believed to have been prepared for presentation purposes prior to Union. This italic handstamp was utilised by the Cape Colony for defacement of incoming Record Book specimens that were not already marked "Specimen".
