1896 Registered cover from MIER BB (cds MR 2) (actually Rietfontein notwithstanding the canceller) to Germany franked an attractive three-colour combination of Cape adhesives. Relevant transit &arrival marks on reverse including handstamp cachet of "Albert Jackson/General Dealer/Rietfontein B.B. via PO Upington". Minor faults to cover perimeter and adhesives. Fine and rare early example of traders' mail from the Mier/Kalahari area later to become famous for the Mier camel post of 1899-1900. VF.
