1901 Envelope endorsed "Per SS Salamis" franked with 3x 1d Table Bay adhesives. Mailed from the Cape to Sydney, NSW. Stamps are tied by superb crisp strike boxed rectangular LOOSE SHIP LETTER likely applied in Melbourne. The envelope bears backflap logo of Royal Engineers together with cds's of Melbourne and Sydney. Some even soiling. A wonderful most attractive example of this scarce Ship Letter mark. At this time the SS Salamis was in the service of the Aberdeen Line. See additional image below.
