1905 "TWENTY STAMP" triangular bulk mail postmark on envelope from Sea Point to the City Treasurer, Cape Town: Envelope franked KEVII 1d superbly tied by cds 3 AU and alongside the clear dated triangular postmark (Goldblatt Type P58). This very scarce postmark was used at the GPO for ONLY THE TOP ITEM on bundles of 20 or more cheap rate mail items and Goldblatt comments "NOT OFTEN SEEN". Also shows in violet the large oval CITY OF CAPE TOWN / TREASURY DEPARTMENT / RECEIVED 4 AUG. 1905 cachet with as usual the comments / details in manuscript and the central filing hole. Backstamped on arrival. Sender's printed details on backflap. F-VF, scarce.
