1851 GRAHAMSTOWN to BATHURST: Folded letter wrapper addressed "OHMS" to "Mr Edward Timm, Bathurst" bearing at top right a nearly full neat strike of the Grahamstown OCTAGONAL 46 handstamp. The letter was unpaid, endorsed from"Civil Commissioner's Office, Graham's Town". This elusive handstamp is recorded in use for a period of only 1½ months between 11th December 1849 and 25th January 1850. F-VF, rare.
