1849 GRAAFF REINET to Cape Town: Folded part entire to "The Honble The Master of Supreme Court, Cape Town" and bearing at top right a VF strike of the Graaff Reinet OCTAGONAL 55 handstamp. Dated inside "Graaf-Reinet, 30th Nov 1849". Endorsed "pp" and rated "1/4pp". A nice early example just over a month after earliest recorded date of 14th October. Superb, scarce, this handstamp recorded in use for only 16 months.
