TRANSVAAL: 1901 PBC KAALFONTEIN CENSOR MARK on cover to England. Very scarce fancy double triangle with hyphenated town name in centre (Prime KLF1) struck in violet on envelope franked ERI 1d tied FPO 46 cds, this the number allocated to Kaalfontein by Rich. This mark unrecorded by both Rich & Rossouw/Pirie and applicable to a village from which recorded mail is described as extremely rare by Putzel. The reverse shows arrival cds AU 10 and the addressor's details "From 735 Sapr. T.B., Harrison/1st Divn T.B.R.B/Kaalfontein" (Royal Engineers). Some minor light foxing mentioned for accuracy, scarce.
