MAURITANIA UPU ARCHIVE RECEIVING AUTHORITY SPECIMENS: 1940 AIF and Nurse 1d - 6d (SG 196-199): FULL SET in strips of three affixed to piece of ledger page and handstamped with 3-line "SPECIMEN / COLLECTION / MAURITANIE" in red-purple. Sent from the UPU in Berne to the Mauritania Post Office where they were affixed to the ledger page and tied by the Mauritania handstamp. Minor imperfections although markedly superior condition to the norm. A unique and philatelically important group proving the distribution of this issue (undefaced) as specimens through the UPU.
