1904 OUTJO NEGATIVE SEAL struck on field letter posted at Outjo to Germany. Displayed are the despatch Deutsch-Südwest-Afrika cds 23 5 (no year slug), Wiesbaden arrival cds 12.7.04 and unusually in black, the Outjo negative sealer applied to Official and Military Mail. Putzel (1991) records cds missing the year slug but only from end 1904 (his literature suggests he has only seen TWO examples dated 18.11 & 27.12 respectively) whereas this cover dates the variation from mid-1904. Putzel also does not record the cds omitting the star spacers. Pristine, fresh, a lovely example.
