1902 KEVII ½d green on buff newspaper wrapper (H&G E1) unused and overprinted "SPECIMEN" diagonally, additionally handstamped "ULTRAMAR" in greenish blue across the imprinted stamp. This handstamp was applied in Lisbon to specimen stamps and postal stationery received from the UPU prior to distribution to the Portuguese colonies. Somewhat tropicalised suggesting origin from an Asian Receiving Authority (Goa?). Central fold sympathetically reinforced on reverse with archival tape. A rare & attractive stationery "exotic" specimen infrequently encountered on material of the ORC.
